Well, my first try at the 80 meter antenna was a flop.  I decided that I needed to go to a very robust antenna that would survive the weather and not suffer from erectile dysfunction.  So, I looked around and went to Zero-Five antennas (http://zerofive-antennas.com).  Tom builds them strong and to last.  The following graphics show the antenna and a close-up of it's base.  This is a full size quarter wave vertical with 32 each 65 foot radials, so far.    And, it really works.
