As I got more seriously into SO2R contesting it became increasingly obvious that I need a second set of gain antennas.  So...   I put up a second tower the spring of 2010.  I chose a 80 foot self supporting tower with arrays for 40 through 6 meters.

I ordered and built an AN-Wireless 80 ft self-supporting tower and a SteppIR DB-18E.  Lots of work.  Needed lots of help.  What fun!

The new tower and beam are now up.  Please click on the picture to enlarge it.  There were four steps to putting this antenna system up:

     1.  Get the best help you can

     2.  Dig a great big hole and install the tower base

     3.  Build the tower and antenna

     4.  Find a real tall crane and erect everything.
